Ready to swoon? Another royal wedding took place over the weekend!
In case you missed it, on Saturday, June 13, Prince Carl Philip married former reality-star Sofia Hellqvist. Their engagement was announced last June.
The wedding celebration began on Friday with a private dinner for guests. The nuptials took place in the chapel of the Royal Palace in Stockholm. After the ceremony was over, guests enjoyed a banquet and dancing at the palace. The guest list included royals from a half-dozen European nations and Princess Takamado of Japan.
The bride’s gown was designed by Ida Sjöstedt. Reminiscent of Kate Middleton’s gown, it featured long-sleeves, lace and a long train. The modern-day princess wore a sparkling diamond tiara with emerald tips and a cathedral-length veil. Her dark brown hair was flawlessly styled in a low bun. Hellqvist, 30, now known as Princess Sofia, carried a gorgeous bouquet of white, light pink and orange roses. The groom, 36, a major in the Swedish navy, wore a black military dress uniform.
Congratulations to the prince and new princess!
