Barack And Michelle Obama’s Lasting Love
Valentine’s Day is a time of the year the world turns its head to look at other couples, admiring the love they share. One of the couples most highlighted lately has been Barack and Michelle Obama.
The 44th President and First Lady have had been in the spotlight since 2008, and here we take a look at some of their most touching moments as a couple. From their first date to their most recent moments, it’s easy to see this is a couple that shares a lasting love.
The couple met during Barack’s internship at a law firm. Their first date was a day-long event in the windy city of Chicago in summer 1989; they visited the Art Institute and followed it with a movie date at a screening of the hot film, Do the Right Thing. The couple hit it off right from the start and married a few short years later in 1992. It was true love.
Barack and Michelle’s relationship is built on mutual support and love; from their first dance at the inaugural ball to their most recent moments, they are constantly flirting and making each other happy.
Through all of his campaign trials from senator to president, Michelle has been by Barack’s side.
When Barack was sworn in as the 44th president, happiness is radiating from the couple at the inaugural ball.
A phrase that describes these two together is, “power couple.” From the sweet moments they spend flirting and the loving posts they make for birthdays and holidays, it is easy to see this is a couple that builds each other up.
Michelle and Barack constantly show mutual support and gratitude. This was clear from the start when the two met while Michelle was working in a law office and he was an intern. Michelle was always by her husband’s side on the campaign trails, and he showed mutual support for her activism with children’s health and nutrition and support for military families. The two show the importance of staying by each other’s side.
In February 2016 at a reception for Black History Month, upon a woman from the audience saying “Heyyyy, Michelle,” Barack proceeded to say:
“We know it is Black History Month when you hear somebody say, ‘Heyyyy, Michelle! Giiiirrrrrlllll you look so good!”
Michelle smiled and said, “He’s alright, you look good too, baby.”
Moments like this make it easy to fall in love with the couple and the happiness they radiate.
Toward the end of his presidency, Michelle posted this adorable throwback photo with a caption sharing her love and appreciation. The caption reads: “So proud of POTUS and all that we’ve accomplished together. What an incredible journey filled with remarkable people. I love you Barack. -mo”

For Michelle’s birthday this year, her husband left a heartwarming message. It read: “To the girl from the South Side who took on a role she didn’t ask for and made it her own: Happy Birthday, Michelle. I love you.”

This year for Valentine’s Day, the couple made sweet posts to one another that have us swooning.
Posting a picture from their vacation with their feet in the sand, Michelle’s post reads “Happy Valentine’s Day to the love of my life and favorite island mate, @BarackObama. #valentines”

Barack’s sweet had a picture of the two side by side and smiling. The post said: “Happy Valentine’s Day, @michelleobama! Almost 28 years with you, but it always feels new.”

A couple that can be together for almost 28 years and still is as in love as they day they married is clearly one that’s been made to last. It’s incredible to see the love and support the couple show one another – from big moments to little intimate moments where they are caught flirting.
